Job Description

  • Meets the basic quality of life needs of patients of all ages.

  • Responds to call lights.

  • Serve meals, feed patients.

  • Vital signs (BP, T, P, R, and SaO2) weight measurements, and accuchecks

  • Make beds, keep rooms clean

  • Amble, turn and position patients; provide fresh water and food between meals.

  • Complementary care through ice/heat treatments, non-sterile dressings, therapeutic baths.

  • I/O cleaning, measurement and documentation.

  • Knowledge of insulation techniques.

  • Report the patient's observations to the associate or charge nurse.

  • Documentation of the care provided.

  • Safe patient handling (for self and patient).

  • Rounding in emergencies.

  • Strong work ethic and ability.

  • Compliance with mandatory regulatory and educational tasks.

  • Administrative tasks.

  • Answer/transfer calls using proper telephone protocol.

  • Print/FAX medical records.

  • Charge patients.

  • Assembly of patient records/folders.

  • Emergency quality controls:

  • Clean ER/AC refrigerators weekly.

  • Clean ER beds and commodes daily/WC weekly.


  • Reliable assistance.

  • Customer service skills.

  • Ability to use computer graphics.

  • Capacity for teamwork.

  • Ability to handle the equipment necessary to evaluate the patient.
