Job Description

  • Assemble equipment and supplies for each surgical case based on surgical preference cards, prepare and organize the field in a timely manner using approved techniques.

  • Keeps track of needles, sponges, and instruments throughout the procedure and performs counts per policy.

  • Report any interruptions in sterility or techniques.

  • Assist team members in cleaning and rotating the operating room.

  • Assist other members of the OR team when necessary.

  • Maintains order, stock and cleanliness of all areas of the department.

  • Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies.

  • Uses resources appropriately and follows center guidelines, policies and procedures.


  • Great oral communication skills.

  • Ability to deal with conflictive and difficult people.

  • Great critical thinking skills.

  • Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their rules and processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification by the National Board of Technology.

  • Surgical and Surgical Assistance preferred.
