Job Description

Balanced Unitized is seeking a highly qualified Curtain Wall Designer with extensive experience in the glazing trade. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, drawing and overseeing quality control processes for curtain wall systems and glazing related projects. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity, aesthetics and functionality of building façade elements including windows, doors and skylights.


Main Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed fabrication and installation drawings for curtain wall systems, glazing assemblies, and other exterior cladding components using software such as AutoCAD and BIM.

• Design and engineer custom glazing systems, ensuring compliance with architectural specifications and building codes.

• Perform quality control inspections during manufacturing and installation phases to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers and project teams to interpret technical specifications and ensure proper execution of projects.

• Supervise and direct design staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure accuracy and efficiency in design outcomes.

• Evaluate and solve design and manufacturing challenges, proposing innovative solutions.

• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports and project deliverables.



Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the glazing sector, including curtain wall design, drawing preparation and quality control.

• Mastery of software such as AutoCAD, BIM and other relevant design programs.

• Solid knowledge in the manufacture of façade elements, including structural and thermal performance considerations.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work within tight deadlines.

TN Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field.

• Experience with advanced quality control methodologies.

• Familiarity with international glazing and curtain wall standards.

• Mastery of project management tools, as well as MS Word and MS Excel.
