Job Description


Functions and responsibilities


  • Evaluates antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients for risk factors, normal course, symptoms of problems, and continuous monitoring; detects changes in symptoms, health or pain and takes necessary action; and quickly assesses and accurately assesses the patient's care needs.


  • Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols


  • Prioritizes the plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates the staff, supplies, and equipment needed to care for patients based on assessed needs.


  • Works collaboratively with provider to provide exceptional care.


  • Administers medications, intravenous therapy, and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures.


  • Provides patient and family education.


  • Records all healthcare information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.


  • Guides and achieves competence in all areas of the Obstetrics Unit


  • Maintains order, stock and cleanliness in all areas of the Obstetrics Unit.


  • Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies.


Schedule


40 hours + overtime is paid at time and a half after working 40 hours in a week. Overtime is paid at time and a half of the base hourly rate.

Requirements


  • Great oral communication skills.

  • Ability to deal with conflictive and difficult people.

  • Great critical thinking skills.

  • Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their rules and processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • English level B1.

  • Preferably experience in a Medical-Surgical Unit and/or Long-Term Care.

TN Qualifications


  • Professional degree in Bachelor of Nursing.

  • Current professional license.

  • Valid passport.
