Job Description

1. Performs triage by assessing patient health and performing ongoing monitoring; detects changes in health symptoms or pain, and takes action as needed; and promptly and accurately assesses patient care needs.
2. Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols.
3. Prioritizes the plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates staffing, supplies, and equipment needed to care for patients based on assessed needs
4. Works collaboratively with the provider to provide exceptional care
5. Administers medications, intravenous therapy and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures
6. Provides patient and family education
7. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the proper format and on the appropriate forms format and on the appropriate forms format and on the appropriate forms
8. Maintains order, stock and cleanliness of all areas of the medical surgical ICU.
9. Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations and adheres to safety policies.
10. Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies and procedures.

Medical-Surgical Unit and/or Long Term Care experience preferred.

40 hours + overtime is paid at time and one-half after working 40 hours in a week, Overtime is paid at time and one-half the base hourly rate

Requirements

-Be a Puerto Rican citizen.
-Degree in Nursing.
-Great oral communication skills
-Ability to deal with conflictive and difficult people
-Great critical thinking skills
-Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their rules and processes
-Ability to manage multiple priorities
-English level B1.
-Preferably experience in a Medical-Surgical Unit and/or Long-Term Care
