Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply fundamental principles of mechanical engineering to the design, development, and optimization of heavy equipment systems.
  • Perform load calculations and performance analysis to ensure the efficiency, safety, and reliability of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers, equipment manufacturers, and other stakeholders to meet project specifications and timelines.
  • Provide engineering solutions based on sound engineering principles to improve equipment performance, streamline operations, and enhance productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements by applying engineering best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to mitigate potential hazards associated with heavy equipment.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and maintenance procedures.

Job Duties:

  • Utilize principles of engineering to conduct performance evaluations of heavy equipment, identifying potential inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to optimize equipment design and operational efficiency through the application of engineering methodologies.
  • Utilize CAD software and engineering principles to create detailed mechanical designs, specifications, and cost estimates for heavy equipment systems.
  • Perform materials testing and analysis using established engineering techniques to ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare and present reports to project stakeholders regarding equipment performance, costs, and operational metrics, based on rigorous engineering analysis.
  • Develop preventive maintenance plans using engineering principles to ensure the longevity and reliability of heavy machinery.
  • Implement engineering solutions aimed at reducing downtime, improving safety, and maximizing resource utilization through data-driven engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with teams to review metrics such as equipment costs, revenue, labor utilization, and profitability, applying corrective actions based on engineering analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically within the heavy equipment industry.
  • Proficient in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of mechanical engineering, including the design, analysis, and application of mechanical systems in heavy equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
TN Qualifications
  • Mexican nationality

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in the heavy equipment industry.
