Job Description

1. Assesses antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients for risk factors, normal progress, symptoms of problems, and ongoing monitoring; detects changes in symptoms, health or pain, and takes necessary action; and promptly assesses and accurately evaluates patient care needs.
2. Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols.
3. Prioritizes the plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates staffing, supplies, and equipment needed to care for patients based on assessed needs
4. Works collaboratively with the provider to provide exceptional care
5. Administers medications, intravenous therapy and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures
6. Provides patient and family education
7. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the proper format, and on the appropriate forms
8. Orients and achieves competency in all areas of the Obstetrics Unit.
9. Maintains order, stock and cleanliness of all areas of the Obstetrics Unit.
10. Practices safe work habits, complies with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies


40 hours + overtime is paid at time and one-half after working 40 hours in a week, Overtime is paid at time and one-half the base hourly rate.

Requirements

-Puerto Rican citizen.
-Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
-Great oral communication skills
-Ability to deal with conflictive and difficult people.
-Strong critical thinking skills
-Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their rules and processes.
-Ability to manage multiple priorities
